Monster House Publishing owner/author Paul McAllister spent much of his life trying his hands at many things – acting, painting, serving, and community organizing. Through it all Paul was always writing, but it wasn’t until 2014 that he began to focus on children’s literature.
Paul published his first book, “There and Back Again: A Herman Tale” in the Fall of 2015 and began Monster House Publishing, an NB-based publishing house for children’s books. Since then, Monster House Publishing has published several works, and has spread the story of Herman across the East Coast of Canada. Paul’s passion for arts and literacy makes the Herman stories as fun as they are educational!
Monster House Publishing’s Herman series encourages children to develop lifelong literacy habits through the use of a lovable creature in tiny purple slippers – Herman the Monster. Herman encourages young readers to splish and splosh, dance and dawdle, and sing a monster song – all to the tune of literacy!
Monster House Publishing aims to connect regional artists, authors, and educators to create work that educates and inspires the budding creativity in school-aged children across the country.
